I can pretty much 'speak along' to most of my fave movies ! ;-)Scottswargaminghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00581220877007982139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26773117.post-39355249740092460712013-09-25T15:01:05.931+01:002013-09-25T15:01:05.931+01:00Listening to music while I'm painting is essen...Listening to music while I'm painting is essential because it helps 'zone out' all the other distractions (ie the kids) in the house. For the past 20-odd years I religiously bought their Sibelius edition disc by disc (over 50 cds) only to discover that when they repackaged the series into various boxed sets they'd added loads of bits of music that hadn't been previously released - like the 8th symphony fragments.

That said, one can't complain really given the large amount of "new" music that was rediscovered. Have you heard the tone poem "The Wood Nymph"? The earlier versions of "The Oceanides" and the 5th symphony are worth hearing too. I'll be listening to a lot of Sibielius soon - he's one of my "winter" composers.

Thanks for pointing out "The Solent" as I wasn't aware of that; will have to look it up.Gileshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01431052344684945450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26773117.post-58394053478904023152013-09-25T14:30:17.273+01:002013-09-25T14:30:17.273+01:00Usually a podcast or audiobook for me.
